Disc Golf Local

Review policy · Version 2026-08-20

Honest feedback—even when it is critical.

Reviews help people make better choices only when they reflect a genuine connection and are protected from pressure, retaliation, and manipulation.

Who can review

Only the two members in an accepted Disc Golf Local connection may review one another after marking the connection complete. Public “Completed” credit appears only when both people confirm. If the meeting never occurred because of a no-show or unresolved dispute, do not mark it complete merely to publish a review; use the private report or feedback path instead. TEST reviews remain inside TEST and never count toward public reputation.

Private first, then published

Your review stays private until the other person submits theirs or the 14-day waiting period ends. The other person cannot require you to change a review as a condition of completing the arrangement.

Negative reviews are allowed

Disc Golf Local does not remove, hide, delay, or penalize a review merely because it is negative or gives a low rating. A critical review may be removed only for a rule that applies regardless of sentiment—for example, fabrication, harassment, threats, private information, irrelevance, or a review that was not based on the reviewer’s firsthand experience.

Disclose relationships and benefits

Reviewers must disclose a free or discounted experience, sponsorship, employer or teammate relationship, family or close friendship, or another benefit that could reasonably affect how readers understand the review. No one may offer money, credit, gifts, or another benefit on the condition that a review be positive or negative.

Keep it factual

Describe what you personally experienced. Separate facts from opinion, avoid guessing about someone’s motives, and do not publish addresses, phone numbers, payment details, private messages, medical information, or other sensitive information.

Reporting a review

If a published review violates this policy, use the Report review link. Identify the specific rule and explain the problem factually. Disagreement with the reviewer’s opinion or rating is not enough by itself.
