Community Guidelines · Version 2026-08-20
Useful, respectful, and safe enough to trust.
Disc Golf Local exists to help touring players and local communities make genuine tournament-week connections. These rules apply to profiles, posts, private messages, reviews, photos, and every other part of the pilot.
Be honest and specific
Describe a genuine offer or request. Make the price or budget, timing, location, capacity, conditions, and what is included easy to understand.
Be yourself
Do not impersonate another person, claim professional status you do not have, create a fake pro account, misstate credentials, or offer something you do not control.
Treat people with respect
No harassment, threats, humiliation, hate speech, discrimination, retaliation, sexual content, or pressure to continue a conversation.
Keep it legal and reasonably safe
No illegal goods or services, weapons, drugs, sexual services, dangerous requests, unsafe payment methods, counterfeit goods, or instructions likely to cause harm.
Protect privacy
Do not publish a home address, phone number, payment information, private message, travel itinerary, license plate, or another person’s identifying information without permission.
Protect minors
Accounts are for adults. When an experience involves a child, a parent or guardian must arrange and participate in the plan. Private one-on-one meetings with minors are not allowed.
Keep promotion relevant
No spam, repetitive posts, misleading links, unrelated advertisements, or posts whose main purpose is to move people to another platform.
Use the correct marketplace
TEST is for rehearsal and simulated activity with no real payment. The real USDGC pilot is only for genuine tournament-week offers, requests, and arrangements.
Payments and in-person meetings
Disc Golf Local does not collect or hold money during the pilot. Confirm the complete arrangement before paying, use a purchase-protected method when appropriate, and pay after the experience when practical. Never pay a stranger by gift card, cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or Friends & Family payment. Meet in a public place when possible and tell someone where you are going.
Reviews and criticism
Honest criticism is allowed. A review is not removed merely because it is negative. Reviews must come from an accepted Disc Golf Local connection after the reviewer confirms their side, describe the reviewer’s firsthand experience truthfully, and disclose a free experience, discount, sponsorship, close relationship, or other benefit that could affect the review. Fabricated claims, threats, personal attacks, private information, retaliation, and incentives tied to positive or negative sentiment are not allowed.
How moderation works
The organizer may approve a submission, request a specific change, or decline it. Reports about published content or member conduct are reviewed privately under these rules; some safety or access actions still require manual handling during this founding pilot. The member receives a private reason when it is safe and appropriate to share one. Fixable submission problems normally receive an edit-and-resubmit path; serious safety, fraud, exploitation, or repeated violations may not.
Reports and appeals
Reports stay private from the reported member. A report does not create an automatic penalty. If a moderation decision appears mistaken, use the private feedback form and identify the decision, explain what was misunderstood, and include only information you are allowed to share. Another review does not guarantee a different result.
Urgent situations
Disc Golf Local is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. The organizer may preserve relevant records and provide information when reasonably necessary to address a credible safety threat, fraud, or legal obligation.
