Founding-pilot terms · Updated August 20, 2026
Small pilot. Clear ground rules.
These terms apply to the Disc Golf Local friend test and USDGC founding pilot. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 and agree to use the pilot under these rules.
An independent community pilot
Disc Golf Local is an independent marketplace experiment. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by USDGC, DGPT, PDGA, tournament organizers, or any venue shown in the product unless a specific relationship is clearly disclosed.
Your account
Use accurate information, protect your password, and keep one account for yourself. Do not impersonate another person, misstate a touring-pro identity, share an invitation outside its intended group, or use someone else’s account. Tell the organizer promptly if you believe an account or private link has been compromised.
Posts, verification, and organizer review
Posts should describe a real USDGC-week offer or request with honest timing, expectations, capacity, and price or budget when relevant. Touring-pro offers require organizer verification using public information; Disc Golf Local will not ask for an identity document or password. Verification means a public PDGA identity and tournament connection were organizer-reviewed. It is not an endorsement, background check, guarantee, or promise about conduct. The organizer may approve, request changes, or decline pilot submissions under the Community Guidelines.
Direct arrangements and payment
Disc Golf Local does not process, hold, guarantee, or refund payments during the pilot and is not a party, employer, representative, or agent in a member-to-member arrangement. Members set their own terms and remain responsible for applicable taxes, permits, licenses, insurance, and lawful delivery. Confirm identity, location, timing, scope, price, cancellation expectations, and who is participating before money changes hands. Do not use gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfers, or Friends & Family payments with a stranger.
Meet and communicate safely
Keep the first conversation in the platform, meet in a public place when possible, tell someone where you are going, and use your own judgment. The pilot does not perform criminal background checks, provide insurance, supervise meetups, or guarantee a member’s identity, conduct, skill, safety, or ability to pay. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Content and conduct
Do not post scams, harassment, hate, threats, sexual or non-consensual content, illegal goods or services, private addresses, license plates, payment credentials, private messages, or content that violates another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights. Do not pressure someone to move off-platform or pay in an unsafe way.
Photos and other material
Only upload material you own or have permission to use. You keep ownership of your content and give Disc Golf Local a limited permission to store, transform, display, and moderate it only as needed to operate and promote the pilot. Identifiable people must have agreed to publication. During this phase, member photo uploads and Live Photos are not available; organizer-curated photos can be removed at any time.
Connections and reviews
Mark a connection complete only when it actually happened. Reviews must reflect a genuine platform connection and may not be fabricated, deceptive, threatening, or based on TEST activity. Disclose free or discounted experiences, sponsorships, close relationships, and other benefits that could affect how a review is understood. Reviews are revealed only after both sides submit or the waiting period ends. Disc Golf Local does not remove a review merely because it is critical or negative; a review may be removed for a neutral violation described in the Review Policy.
The TEST lane
Anything marked TEST is a simulation for product feedback. Use sample details, do not exchange real money, and do not treat TEST listings, completions, or reviews as real demand, credentials, obligations, or public reputation. Moving a tester into the real pilot is a separate organizer action.
Reports, blocks, appeals, and account action
Members can block another member and privately report a safety or conduct issue. The organizer reviews reports under these rules and may pause the limited pilot or handle a content or access concern manually when the current organizer tools do not provide a self-service action. A member may ask for a private review of a moderation decision through the feedback flow, but an appeal does not automatically pause the decision or guarantee a different result. An account-deletion request does not prevent retention of the limited information needed to investigate abuse, resolve a dispute, or follow the law.
Pilot availability
The pilot may change, pause, or end as the product is tested. Features and listings are provided as available, without a promise that every connection will occur or every error will be prevented. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
Questions and updates
Signed-in members can use the feedback flow for a terms, safety, or account question. If you cannot sign in, email hello@discgolflocal.com. Material changes will be dated here before they apply to later pilot use, and formal legal review will be completed before a broader public launch.
