Founding-pilot notice · Updated August 20, 2026
Privacy, in plain language.
This notice covers the Disc Golf Local interest list, friend-test space, and USDGC founding pilot. The pilot is deliberately small, but the information people share still deserves clear boundaries.
Information you give the pilot
The interest form can collect your name, email address, participation role, optional home city, consent time, and referral details such as the campaign or creator link that brought you here. A member account also includes a display name, role, profile details, a securely hashed password, and any PDGA number or public identity reference you choose to submit for touring-pro review.
Marketplace and trust activity
Disc Golf Local stores posts, posting-rule acknowledgments, responses, saved listings, private messages, scheduling choices, connection confirmations, reviews, review-rule acknowledgments and disclosures, blocks, reports, organizer decisions, and private requests to reconsider a decision so the marketplace and its trust flow can work. Reviews remain private until both sides submit or the reveal period ends. TEST activity is kept in a separate lane and does not count toward public pilot demand or reputation.
Feedback and device details
If you send pilot feedback, the site stores the note, its status, organizer replies, whether follow-up is allowed, and limited browser or device information that helps reproduce a problem. An optional screenshot is private to you and the organizer. Do not include passwords, payment details, private messages, or other people’s personal information.
Cookies, logs, and security signals
The site uses an essential session cookie to keep a signed-in account working; it is not an advertising cookie. Cloudflare may process IP address, browser and request details, timestamps, and security events to deliver the site, prevent attacks, and troubleshoot failures. Because Disc Golf Local does not sell personal information or use cross-context behavioral advertising, browser “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals do not change advertising behavior on this pilot.
Community photos
Only the organizer can publish gallery photos during this stage. Publication requires rights and consent confirmation plus descriptive alt text. JPG, PNG, and WebP uploads are re-encoded to a new WebP file without the original filename or original file. The pilot rejects Live Photos, HEIC, video, SVG, and GIF uploads for now. Photos centered on children are not accepted.
What other people can see
Your display name and profile details can become public when you have an approved real-pilot post, a published review, or approved pro verification. Approved real-pilot posts and published reviews can also be public. Account email addresses, password material, private conversations, saved posts, blocks, reports, feedback, organizer notes, and TEST-only activity are not public. Disc Golf Local does not publish home addresses or phone numbers.
How information is used
Information is used to operate accounts and conversations, review pilot posts and pro identities, prevent abuse, send requested account alerts, recruit a balanced founding group, understand which outreach is useful, troubleshoot the product, and improve pilot readiness. It is not used to build advertising profiles.
Service providers and sharing
Cloudflare infrastructure stores and serves the application, database records, and private image objects. Resend delivers verification, recovery, message, moderation, and feedback emails when those alerts are enabled. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to address fraud, safety, a legal obligation, or a rights claim. Disc Golf Local does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Payments are outside the platform
Disc Golf Local does not collect payment-card or bank information, hold funds, issue refunds, or process member payments during the pilot. Members make any payment arrangement directly and should avoid putting payment details in posts, messages, or feedback.
Retention and deletion
Account and marketplace information is generally kept while the account is active and while it is reasonably needed to operate the pilot. Feedback, moderation, security, and delivery records may be kept longer when needed to understand a fix, prevent abuse, handle a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. Unpublished or deleted photos are denied public access before storage cleanup. The pilot does not promise a fixed retention period where an operational or safety reason requires a different result.
Signed-in members can start or cancel a deletion request from Account & privacy controls. Requests are reviewed and completed manually during the founding pilot, and the organizer will confirm privately when handling is complete. The account stays usable while the organizer reviews the request. Public access is removed first, then information is deleted or anonymized where reasonably possible; a limited record may be retained for safety, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal obligations.
Your choices
You can edit profile information, close posts, change email-notification preferences, send a correction or privacy question through the signed-in feedback flow, and request account deletion. If you cannot sign in, email hello@discgolflocal.com so the founding organizer can verify that the request belongs to you.
Age and children
Member accounts and the founding pilot are for people age 18 or older. Disc Golf Local is not directed to children and does not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18. Member photo uploads will not open until consent, reporting, removal, and age safeguards are in place.
Security and changes
The pilot uses hashed passwords, expiring account-action links, private storage, role checks, and limited-access moderation tools. No online service can promise perfect security. This notice will be updated when data practices or providers materially change, and formal legal review plus any legally required business contact details will be completed before the pilot expands beyond a limited founding group.
